Adam
Levy had been playing the Bay Area jazz club circuit for
years before hooking up to play guitar in singer/songwriter
Norah Jones' band. But Adam's first high-profile gig came
when was offered to audition for another popular singer-songwriter,
Tracy Chapman. "The Tracy Chapman connection came about
when I was recommended for the gig by a friend. I auditioned,
never dreaming I'd get the gig. But I did. I played with
her for a year, 1994-5, and am featured on her 'New Beginning'
album." Since then, Adam has played with the likes
of John Zorn, Joey Baron, and Sex Mob.. that is until he
met Norah Jones. "I
met Norah three years ago in a bar, in New York City, when
she first came to New York from Dallas, Texas. We had some
friends in common, we had musical interests in common, and
we clicked together nicely." Adam has been playing
in Norah Jones' band ever since. Adam has also started his
own Lost Wax Records
label as an outlet for his own projects.

Adam is currently
playing select gigs around the New York and Los Angeles
area. Lately, he has been showing off is songwriting and
vocal talents andAdam just released a CD showcasing his
songwriting and vocal talents entitled 'Loose
Rhymes: Live On Ludlow Street.' In addition, he recently produced
the latest release from the gypsy jazz group The Hot Club
of San Francisco. He can also be found as a guest artist
for a number of different bands when not on the road with
Norah Jones.
