The
eclectic, Seattle-based group Critters Buggin consists
of bassist Brad Houser and drummer Matt Chamberlain
(both formerly of the New Bohemians), percussionist Mike
Dillon, and saxophonist Skerik (a former member of SadHappy
and Tuatara). The band formed in 1993 and released their
first record Gues't the
following year on their friend Stone Gossard's Loosegroove
label. The live album Host appeared
three years later, followed by 1998's Bumpa.
Critters Buggin's 1999 album Amoeba continued
the group's distinctive jazz-funk-dub direction.
